Treasures from the deep!

Luck would have it that a german Heinkeln 115 has been sleeping at the bottom of the sea just a mile from our local airplane museum! Guess what they pulled from the cockpit! A surprisingly helathy looking MG-15! This has been sitting at the bottom of the sea for 70 years! amazing!

Nothing new (busy refitting the house), but I'm planning a small saber build!

Ear gap

As I'm basing this helmet on the "Move Along" helmet I'm leaving some gaps at the ears...

Ears are on!

The ears - what can I say other than that THEY SUCK!! Tricky buggers. But after some agile dremel action and some lowered expectations I'm happy with the result. Keep in mind that the screen used helmets were thrown together in a hurry and have HUGE gaps...

Helmet moving along

The helmet went together very easily. The only thing remaining is the ears...bah! Tricky stuff!! Luckily you get two sets with the ATA kit - hopefully I won't make mistakes twice on the same side. Fingers crossed!

New pouch!

Got this vintage leather pouch for 10 USD - only let-down was it's colour...dark green! I need to figure out a good way to dye it black.

First blood

And so the saga begins... I've been waiting for some lexan scissors hoping they would make cutting out the armour parts easier - boy was I right!! This has to be the best tip for any armour n00b. It makes cutting out the parts SO much easier.
